About Lovejoy, Inc. From http://www.lovejoy-inc.com
Lovejoy has been a pioneer in advancing manufacturing technology for power transmission components since patenting the jaw coupling in 1927. Making this possible is the dedication of our people and the continued support of our customers. Our lasting success is also due to the fact that we are a privately held company whose primary goal is to give customers a value greater than the price paid for the product. To achieve this, we are committed to providing the highest quality products with the best customer service at the lowest possible price.
Lovejoy began manufacturing Universal Joints in 1946, the same year Merlin W. Dangel began serving as president of the company. The following year, the company made a major acquisition through its purchase of the Variable Speed Pulley line. In 1960, the production of VSPs was moved to a brand new plant in South Haven, Michigan. Then in 1962 and 1963, Lovejoy began manufacturing two new product lines: the Uniflex and the Saga lines. In 1964, C. Patrick Hennessy began his twenty-year service as president of the company.
Recently, Lovejoy has set its sights on international expansion. The company opened a warehouse in Holland in 1994; and in 1995, Lovejoy developed a line of Curved Jaw couplings, which is the European standard. In 1996, the company has introduced a line of all-metal, flexible grid couplings which protects PT systems from vibration and shock. Even more international expansion will be the goal for the future as Lovejoy proves that it truly is where the world turns for couplings.
