Overview: Stating the fact that service life of a dynamometer and the quality of test results depend on routine maintenance received during its lifetime, this paper aims to assist experienced maintenance personnel in maintaining the dynamometer in foreseen conditions. It provides a list of suggested items that must be included on a preventive maintenance checklist, detailing the importance of proper loading, routine inspection, cleaning of filters, and proper lubrication of bearings. Guidelines for periodical dynamometer maintenance schedules are included along with a troubleshooting guide for identifying possible component failures.
