What Do You Need to Know about Pallet Rack?

Publisher: PeakLogix
This paper states in order to optimize the most efficient pallet racking solution for a new distribution facility or reconfiguring an existing facility, several factors should be considered from engineering to design and installation. It details how factors such as full time employee equivalents and quantity, size, weight, and movement velocity of the existing stock keeping unit base could determine all possible rack system designs. Also discussed are some of the basic pallet racking configurations such as selective racking, drive-in and drive-through racking, and mobile pallet racking, along with the material considerations of pallet racking and its maintenance. Figures illustrating Greenfield site, double deep pallet racking, automatic storage and retrieval system, and structural steel pallet racking are also included.
