The oxide finish is fully integrated with the underlying metal, so it will not chip or peel. Extremely strong and effective against corrosion, wear, and weathering, our anodized finishes are exceptionally durable and retain their appearance and protective qualities for decades. We operate computer-controlled and monitored anodizing lines with robotic loading, unloading, and transfer. We carry out a multi-stage pretreatment to prepare surfaces for the anodizing baths and maintain tight control over current and bath chemistry to ensure accurate and uniform coverage and coating thickness. In addition to Type II color anodizing with a bright dip or etch pretreatment, we offer engineered Type III hard coat that produces a thicker coating. Creating distinctive looks such as marbling, fading, and photo-quality graphics are just a few of the things we can do. Galvanizing is a cost-effective method for providing long-term corrosion protection, even in the harshest conditions. We process parts of all shapes and sizes — in addition to having the largest galvanizing kettle in the world, we also operate fully automated spin lines for galvanizing nuts, bolts, hinges, and other small parts. Our hot-dip galvanizing process has three stages: surface preparation, galvanizing, and inspection. Surface prep involves degreasing and pickling to remove surface contaminants such as dirt, grease, oil, mill scale, and iron oxides. We then flux with a zinc ammonium chloride solution to remove any residual oxides and allow a protective layer to form that prevents any further oxidation before galvanizing. To galvanize, we submerge objects in high-purity molten zinc, which reacts with the substrate to form a coating of metallurgically bonded zinc-alloy layers. This coating is harder than the base metal, extremely corrosion, abrasion, and impact resistant, and lasts for decades. Located in Los Angeles, CA, Valmont/George Industries specializes in aluminum anodizing and provides a large selection of colors in type II (sulfuric) or type III (hard). Powder coatings provide a wide range of performance properties, offering excellent resistance to corrosion, heat, fading and impact abrasion while providing aesthetic value to your product. We have the capacity to powder coat nearly everything from large runs of small intricate parts to large steel poles.
E-Coating is one of the most durable and cost-effective methods of corrosion protection available. Valmont/ACT in Mendota Heights, MN specializes in this process during which an organic coating is deposited from an aqueous solution through an electrical charge. The parts are then baked in ovens to create a continuous organic film. The immersion process e-Coating employs provide paint coverage in recesses, minute holes and other areas inaccessible to conventional spray applications.
